HUB 26 "Opening a Gate to Tomorrow"

Client: Dimand
Year: 2024

HUB 26 in Thessaloniki is the first large-scale bioclimatic business park in Northern Greece, designed to host national and multinational companies as well as financial institutions. The project features a modern office complex spanning 7,704 square meters, comprising four buildings with 230 underground parking spaces and auxiliary areas, reaching a total built area of 31,000 square meters.

Dimand entrusted us with the design, organization, and execution of the HUB 26 inauguration event, which took place on September 6, 2024, welcoming over 400 VIP guests, including clients, stakeholders, politicians, institutional representatives, and media.

The creative process began with the development of the event’s concept.

The visual identity was inspired by the distinctive terracotta color of the building and photorealistic images of the structure. A monochromatic background was paired with a custom-designed logo for HUB 26, while the central message “Opening a Gate to Tomorrow” was selected to reflect the project’s forward-thinking philosophy. This identity was consistently applied across all communication materials, presentations, and scenographic elements, creating a cohesive visual experience aligned with the building’s natural tones and textures.

The scenography centered around a main stage featuring a striking vertical LED screen measuring 7×8 meters. The screen was integrated into a custom structure in the shape of an “H”, which initially served as the podium for speeches and later split in two to reveal a concealed inauguration ribbon.

Additionally, four large-scale, tailor-made inflatables were strategically placed throughout the venue: a sphere and a knot at the entrance, another sphere near the LED screen, and a ring that appeared to pass through the building. The inflatables, all in white, created a captivating contrast with the terracotta hues of the building while harmonizing with its overall aesthetic. These elements also served as Instagram-worthy focal points that resonated across social media.

Lighting played a significant role in the overall design. More than 250 lighting fixtures illuminated the HUB 26 complex as well as the iconic FIX building across the street, enhancing the event’s celebratory mood and establishing the business park as a new landmark in Thessaloniki’s skyline.

To ensure a visually coherent environment, the neighboring building—set to become the headquarters of the Black Sea Trade & Development Bank—was fully covered with a custom mesh fabric.

The event was held under the auspices of the Municipality of Thessaloniki and was hosted by ERT3 journalist Synthia Sapika. Speeches were delivered by the Minister of Development, representing the Prime Minister, alongside regional and municipal officials, religious leaders, and the CEO of OURANIA S.A. and DIMAND Group.

A key component of the event was a bespoke short film featuring the inflatables, which symbolically lifted and transported the Gateway over Thessaloniki before placing it on the HUB 26 building to mark its inauguration. The film was produced following a two-day shoot across the city, capturing original footage that was later enriched with advanced post-production techniques such as 3D modeling and compositing to achieve a realistic, immersive result.

The evening’s atmosphere was elevated by live music performances from Irene Skylakaki and Christos Petevis on violin, adding a touch of refined elegance to the after-party.

The event was met with widespread success, attracting full attendance and garnering significant attention across Thessaloniki. Notable guests included prominent political figures such as the Minister of National Economy and Finance Kostis Hatzidakis, the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Nikos Tachiaos, the Minister of Health Adonis Georgiadis, and the Prime Minister’s spouse Mareva Grabowski-Mitsotaki. The event quickly became the talk of the town, receiving extensive media coverage and solidifying HUB 26’s position as the city’s new center of business excellence and innovation.

The production involved a dedicated team of over 60 professionals working for four consecutive days to bring the event to life. Key challenges included limited space in the venue’s forecourt and unpredictable weather, with rain showers on the day of the event. However, these obstacles were successfully overcome, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience.
