NIKE Basketball Lounge @Antetokounbros 2017
To commemorate the exhibition game featuring Giannis and Thanassis Antetokounmpo and their friends against the 2005 Greek National Basketball Team, we orchestrated an immersive basketball-themed event at the Wall of Nations at OAKA. This celebration was designed to honor the sport, its history, and its future, providing an engaging experience for basketball enthusiasts of all ages.
At the heart of the event was the NIKE Pavilion, an 80 sqm space that served as the welcoming point for all attendees. Inside, a meticulously arranged display showcased 36 NIKE Basketball Heritage Shoes, each representing a piece of basketball history and NIKE contribution to the sport. Directly across from this homage to the past, we unveiled the future of basketball footwear to the Greek public for the first time. Visitors had the exclusive opportunity to try on the latest innovations, including the new NIKE Hyperdunk and the Jordan Superfly, marking a significant moment in basketball culture in Greece.

Adding an interactive element, an impressive videobooth application allowed guests to virtually assist Giannis in performing a dunk, creating a memorable and personal connection to the basketball icon.
The event also hosted a 3×3 basketball tournament, engaging 24 teams of young athletes in a seven-hour contest of skill and teamwork. A basketball court was specially constructed outside the pavilion for the occasion. The tournament culminated in a thrilling finale, with the finalists receiving coaching from Giannis and Thanasis Antetokounmpo themselves before competing in the final game during the halftime of the main event.
In an exclusive offer to Nike.com members, over 1,000 fans were invited to the Nike Basketball Lounge to collect a wristband for guaranteed entry to the exhibition game and receive a unique kit celebrating the “We are all bros” philosophy.
The highlight for many was the appearance of the Antetokounmpo brothers, Giannis, Thanasis, and Konstantinos, who visited the Nike Basketball Lounge to meet and engage with fans and young players. Their visit included a short dunking exhibition and participation in a 3×3 game with tournament participants, followed by an introduction to the heritage shoes by a sneaker expert.
Throughout the day, a DJ set the atmosphere, ensuring the celebration’s energy persisted long after the main game concluded, with attendees lingering in the lounge, engaging in basketball play, and relishing the community spirit.
This event was not just a celebration of the Antetokounmpo brothers and their achievements but also a testament to the enduring impact of basketball in bringing people together, celebrating heritage, and inspiring the next generation of athletes.
